Patenkinder in Myanmar, eine fehlgeschlagene Reportage
Auf unserer letzten Reise nach Birma besuchten wir ein Projekt des “Fördervereins Kinderhilfe Birma” in” Yenangyaun” www.kin-bir.de . Dieser Verein hat es sich zur Aufgabe gemacht ein Waisenhaus in Yenangyaun zu bauen. Mit Spenden sollen zudem Kinder und Ihre zum Teil vorhandene Restfamilie kontinuierlich unterstützt werden. Es soll der Lebensunterhalt und der Schulbesuch gesichert werden.
Schon am Flughafen in Yangon wurden wir und unsere 140 kg Übergepäck ( gesammelte Kinderkleider, Medikamente Decken und Spielzeug)
von Eric Trutwin, dem Initiator des Projektes in Empfang genommen. Man machte sich bekannt und es war eine große Freude zu sehen, wie glücklich und dankbar Eric für die Unterstützung war. Wir verabredeten uns für einige Wochen später in Yenangyaun, wo ich auch eine kleine Fotoreportage über das Projekt und besonders über die Kinder machen wollte. Kinderfotografie ist einer meiner fotografischen Schwerpunkte.
Wir reisten also mit dem Überlandbus mitten in der Nacht an und siehe da, wer stand um 3:00 Uhr morgens auf verlassener Strasse und erwartete uns – Eric Trutwin- Er brachte uns zu seinem wunderschönen Guesthouse, wo wir dann dankbar in die Kissen sanken. Eine großartige Überraschung erwartete mich am Morgen als ich mit dem ersten Sonnenlicht aufstand und auf den Balkon ging. So eine traumhafte Aussicht auf die, in dem ersten Morgenlicht liegende Irrawaddy Ebene, hatte ich nicht erwartet. Natürlich musste ich das sofort fotografieren.
Das Frühstück wurde uns von zwei reizenden Burmesinnen gebracht und Eric kam um uns einen guten Morgen zu wünschen und unsere Pässe zur Registrierung abzuholen. Leider stellte sich dann heraus, dass das Visum meines Mannes schon zwei Tage abgelaufen war, was normalerweise überhaupt kein Problem darstellt, aber leider ist man in dieser wirklich gottverlassenen Region nicht an Touristen gewöhnt und der örtliche Beamte ordnete an, dass wir Yenanyaun bis zum Abend wieder zu verlassen hätten.
Daher fiel meine Reportage dann sehr dürftig aus.
Wir sahen aber doch etliche der betreuten Kinder, ihre Unterkünfte und verbliebenen Familienangehörigen. Wir entschieden uns für die Übernahme zweier Patenschaften der dort besuchten Kinder.
Mein Mann, Frank Mohr, hat sich sofort sehr zu einem kleinen Jungen hingezogen gefühlt, der ziemlich krank aussah und von dem er den Eindruck bekam, dass er ganz dringend Hilfe benötigte. Er entschied sich ihn als Patenkind zu unterstützen und auch für sämtliche medizinischen Anwendungen aufzukommen. Wir nannten den Jungen Spiderman, da er zu diesem Zeitpunkt bereits eines, der von uns mitgebrachten T-Shirts, in dem Fall mit Spiderman Motiv, trug.
Leider stellte sich nach unsere Rückkehr aus Burma heraus, dass der kleine Junge unheilbar an Krebs erkrankt ist und wir eigentlich gar nichts mehr für ihn tun können. Ich habe mich bei diesem Besuch für ein kleines Mädchen als Patenkind entschieden, von dem ich allerdings kein Foto machen konnte. Wir haben unbedingt vor, das Projekt nächstes Jahr wieder zu besuchen und hoffen dann in Erics schönem Guesthouse etwas länger verweilen zu können. Dann werde ich sicherlich mit mehr interessantem Fotomaterial von diesem unterstützenswerten Projekt wiederkommen.
Am Abend fuhr dann kein Bus mehr nach Bagan, deshalb stellte uns Eric einen Jeep samt Fahrer zur Verfügung. Diese Fahrt gefiel uns gut, obwohl sie recht abenteurlich war, da es auf Sand- und Schotterpisten durchs nächtliche Myanmar ging.
Bis plötzlich an unserem Jeep das Licht ausfiel, also hieß es anhalten und nachschauen, wo der Fehler liegt. Das Problem konnte nicht behoben werden, sodass wir dann mit einer Taschenlampe, aus dem Fenster gehalten, als Notbeleuchtung, weiterfuhren. Das war auf jeden Fall mal was ganz anderes. In der nächsten größeren Ortschaft wurde dann nach einer Werkstatt gefragt, woraufhin es hieß, wir sollten uns doch einstweilen mal ins Teahouse setzen. Irgendjemand flitzte dann los und keine zehn Minuten später erschien ein strubbeliger in Schlaflongyi,

gewandeter Mechaniker und brachte in kurzer Zeit unsere Autoscheinwerfer wieder in Ordnung.
Nach einem Tee und einer Limo setzten wir dann unseren Weg fort und erreichten gut, wenn auch etwas spät, unser Hotel in Bagan.
